In response to growing regulatory and societal expectations regarding sustainable development, the topic of responsible office space management is becoming increasingly relevant. The event organized by the ESG Institute, titled “Is Your Office Ready for ESG?”, held on January 22 in Wrocław, brought together representatives from the real estate, ESG, legal, investment, and facility management sectors. The meeting provided practical guidance and inspiration on how to effectively implement ESG strategies in office environments — covering everything from formal requirements to technological and operational aspects of decarbonization.

Expert Knowledge and Concrete Solutions

The event opened a space for discussions about changes affecting the daily operations of companies — both property owners and tenants. Key presentations covered a wide range of topics:

  • Agnieszka Orłowska (ESG Institute) - She presented the key elements of non-financial reporting and the role of the office in a company’s ESG strategy, highlighting that data related to energy consumption, emissions, and user comfort are now integral parts of reporting.
  • Maciej Traczyk (JLL) - He presented the market perspective, highlighting that ESG increasingly influences not only the value of real estate but also the decisions of investors and tenants. He also shared data regarding market preferences and the challenges involved in adapting older buildings.
  • Aleksandra Chrzczonowicz (Kancelaria Radców Prawnych Wiatr i Partnerzy) - She discussed the key aspects of lease agreements from an ESG perspective, emphasizing the importance of clauses related to resource consumption responsibility, modernization costs, and cooperation in data reporting.
  • Eliza Jamrozik i Monika Chacińska (Skanska) - They demonstrated, through concrete examples, how effective building management can support decarbonization and create a friendly work environment. They also highlighted practical solutions implemented by the company as part of its sustainable building policy.

ESG as a Common Language for Companies and Real Estate

Event participants unanimously emphasized that a sustainable approach to office management is not only an obligation but also an opportunity to optimize costs, increase transparency, and build brand reputation. Today, more and more companies expect their offices to be energy-efficient, comfortable, and aligned with ESG values—regardless of whether they own the buildings or lease them.

A Space for Collaboration and Dialogue

After the main program, participants had the chance to continue conversations and exchange experiences over coffee. The networking session proved to be an excellent opportunity to bring together diverse perspectives—legal, technical, and managerial—and to establish contacts that may lead to joint projects in the future.

Summary

The meeting in Wrocław demonstrated that ESG in the context of offices and real estate is a topic that requires a holistic approach, knowledge, and collaboration among multiple stakeholders. From data reporting and contract structuring to concrete actions at the operational level—every element plays a crucial role in creating sustainable and future-ready workplaces.

Warsaw Edition

16.04.2025

In a world full of dynamic changes and rising expectations for companies, employee well-being has become one of the key pillars of responsible and sustainable development. That’s why, during the event “Sustainable Workplace: ESG as the Key to Well-being,” held on October 17 in Warsaw, HR leaders, ESG experts, and business representatives gathered to jointly explore how to create work environments that are both efficient and supportive.

ESG and Well-being – A Strategic Connection

The meeting was opened by Agnieszka Orłowska from the ESG Institute, who in her presentation outlined the role of well-being in ESG strategies and reports. Practical Approaches to Mental Health and Inclusion

Subsequent presentations provided participants with concrete tools and examples:

The event demonstrated that more and more companies are not only talking about values but are consistently putting them into practice. We thank all the speakers, participants, and partners for the time spent together and the inspiring conversations. We believe that events like this help shape a future where sustainable development goes hand in hand with care for people.

Wrocław Became a Space for Inspiring Dialogue Between Large and Small Businesses

As part of the event “ESG for Large and Small Businesses,” held on October 15, representatives of companies of various sizes came together to explore a shared question: How does sustainable development impact our organizations, and what can we do to make ESG a real tool for transformation — not just a buzzword?

ESG – A Challenge and Opportunity for All Companies

Expert presentations demonstrated that ESG matters to every organization, regardless of its size — not only due to new regulations, but also as a catalyst for building responsible organizational culture, developing innovative strategies, and gaining a competitive edge.

  • Agnieszka Pałys (Wrocławski Park Technologiczny) She opened the event with a reflection on the future of responsible business, emphasizing that sustainable development and ethical practices are not just trends, but essential needs shaping the evolving expectations of customers, employees, and investors.
  • Marta Bodys (Odpowiedzialni za przyszłość) She highlighted how the implementation of ESG principles translates into the daily operations of a company – from management decisions to operational activities. Her presentation served as a powerful reminder that responsibility doesn't begin in reports, but in everyday choices.
  • Agnieszka Orłowska (ESG Institute) She discussed the legal aspects of implementing the CSRD directive in Poland. She emphasized the "ESG domino effect" – the impact of large companies' reporting obligations on smaller entities within their supply chains. This is a key signal that SMEs must start preparing today for changes that will soon become their new reality.

Practical approaches to decarbonization and sustainable energy

  • Jonasz Szczeniowski (Green Trace) He introduced the topic of decarbonization in the SME sector, demonstrating that there are accessible and scalable solutions that allow companies to reduce their carbon footprint while simultaneously increasing their operational efficiency.
  • Mateusz Kania (SOLARE ENERGY) He discussed the role of Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (cPPAs) in the energy transformation of businesses. He highlighted how green energy can generate real savings and strengthen a company's resilience to energy price fluctuations.

ESG in Practice of Large Organizations – Inspiration for Smaller Companies

  • Agnieszka Kotlińska (Kaufland Polska) She shared her experiences in implementing ESG strategies in a large retail chain. Her presentation demonstrated that transparency, responsible sourcing, and supply chain management can also be adopted by smaller companies—scaled to their capabilities.
  • Anna Barbaruk (Infosys) She argued that ESG is not just an obligation but an opportunity to build a competitive advantage. She showed how a well-communicated ESG strategy can boost employee engagement, attract talent, and strengthen the company’s reputation.

Dialogue and Collaboration as the Foundation of Transformation

After the substantive part, participants gathered at discussion tables to exchange experiences and seek joint solutions. It is these direct conversations that often give rise to concrete ideas and future partnerships, which can translate into real actions in the area of ESG.

Summary

The event demonstrated that ESG is a universal topic—regardless of a company’s size, sector, or location. It is also a space where companies can support each other, share best practices, and build common standards of responsibility.
